Are you looking for ways to grow your professional learning network? Join us as we share with you how to utilize social media to do just that. Since we will be diving right in, you will need a device that you are comfortable in using (a laptop is best). To get you started, we will begin with the basics of Twitter by setting up your account, creating/sprucing up your profile, connecting you with other educators to follow, and giving you the times of chats we find most beneficial. We will practice tweeting, photo/video tagging, and using hashtags in real time. In this hands-on session, you will experience how to participate in a Twitter chat with educators from all over the world. Once we are ready to dive in further with Twitter, we will introduce you to Tweetdeck. We will discover the power of the hashtag and learn how to use it to connect, share, and learn. Participants will use Tweetdeck to discover trending educational hashtags to follow in the future.
